ASX slumps 1.5pc on US concerns
THE Australian sharemarket has opened almost 1.5 per cent weaker, with losses in all sectors following significant falls on Wall Street on Friday.
In early trade, the benchmark S&P/ASX200 index had lost 68.7 points, or 1.45 per cent, at 4681.9 points, while the broader All Ordinaries index was down 67.6 points, or 1.42 per cent, to 4704.3 points.
On the Sydney Futures Exchange, the March share price index futures contract was 54 points lower at 4,652 on volume of 10,577 contracts.
