Foxconn still in control despite tight component supply

16 February 2009]

Foxconn Electronics (Hon Hai Precision Industry) is still in control of its supply volume despite recent large volumes of rush orders causing tight supply in the upstream component chain, according to company spokesperson Edmund Ding.

Better-than-expected demand has caused downstream makers to start placing rush orders, but since Foxconn has the advantage of vertical integration, the company's component supply chain is still under control.

In other news, Foxconn has declined to comment on recent rumors that its has restarted the hiring process at its plants in China.
