Hong Kong: Pacific Basin Shipping has ordered 10 bulkers from Chinese yards at a cost of $284.4m.
The Hong Kong based owner has ordered six 35,000 dwt handysize bulk carriers from Jiangmen Nanyang Ship Engineering for $25.5m per vessel.
The newbuildings are due to be delivered in the second half of 2012 and the first half of 2013.
The company has options for two further ships at the same price for delivery in the second half of 2013.
Pacific Basin also ordered four 58,100 dwt bulkers from Tsuneishi Group (Zhoushan) Shipbuilding for $32.85 per ship.
The vessels are due to be delivered in 2013.
