Jeg har lige fået nedenstående udtalelser fra Gijs Nagel, direktør i Degiro.
Degiro har vist interesse i at overtage den spanske børsmæglervirksomhed, Interdin, som er en del af Banco De Madrid, efter at Banco De Madrid er gået konkurs. Det er som sagt kun i de indledende stadier, hvor Degiro har henvendt sig til Interdin:
"DEGIRO, a leading European broker from the Netherlands which has been active in Spain since September 2014, has shown interest in a part of Banco de Madrid. The interest of DEGIRO is in the brokerage unit Interdin, the main Spanish broker in derivatives. DEGIRO was triggered when CNMV took control at Interdin after its parent company, Banco de Madrid, went into a bankruptcy procedure. The intervention of CNMV at Interdin resulted in clients only being able to close positions without the ability to withdraw deposits.
Interdin and the CNMV have been contacted by DEGIRO, which is offering to search for a joint solution for the clients of Interdin. Until now it is unclear how CNMV will decide in the Interdin case.
DEGIRO is in a process of rapid international expansion, in which Spain is an essential asset. The strategy of DEGIRO is to gain market share by offering trading at extremely low fees. In this sense it is understandable that DEGIRO shows interest in the Interdin situation as the Dutch Broker has recently expanded its strategy connecting the MEFF derivative exchange, a market place where many Interdin clients are active".
